Jon Lord (Deep Purple) used the Hoochie Coochie Men as his band when he toured Australia. The Hoochie Coochie Men are Tim Gaze on Guitar & Vocals (Jimmy Barnes/ Stevie Wright/ Renee Geyer/ Taman Shud/ Khavas Jute), Bob Daisley on Bass (Rainbow/ Gary Moore/ Ozzy Osbourne/ Kahvas Jute/ Black Sabbath) and Rob Grosser on Drums & Vocals (Bob Margolin/ Pete Wells/ Lucy Desoto & the Handsome Devils).

This self titled cd is the album that Jon Lord heared and asked the Hoochie Coochie Men to play with him when he toured Australia. The self titled cd is a collection of blues classics as well as their originals.

They also released a Jon Lord & The Hoochie Coochie Men with special guest Jimmy Barnes dvd/cd "Live At The Basement" through EMI in 2003. "Danger: White Men Dancing" was released in 2007 with guest performances by Ian Gillan, Jeff Duff & Jimmy Barnes.
