Notes:

Departure is the brainchild of one Mike Walsh. Mike is multi-instrumentalist and has a vast experience of the music industry. He has recently worked with Dave Rosenthal (Red Dawn, Deep Purple, currently touring with Billy Joel) on numerous projects, including this debut by Departure. Mike has also worked with members of Bon Jovi, as well as having produced, scored, written and arranged several New Jersey bands.

Mike discovered Departure vocalist Ken Michaels in the late 1980’s when they were both playing in a New Jersey club with different bands. Soon after they began writing songs for Tony Bongiovi (Jon’s Uncle) for his Power Station operation. The basis of some of the songs on the Departure record were laid down at this time. Mike plays a number of instruments on the record, including Guitar, Keys, Bass and Mandolin. Others playing include drummer Steve Pozzelanti, keyboardsman Johnny O’ Connell, bassist Jeff Seykot and of course, special guest Dave Rosenthal, who needs no introduction.

Although this album was released in 1998, it contains tracks that were recorded more than 10 years prior. David Rosenthal played keyboards on two tracks. The band features guitarist Mike Walsh who played in David's high school band "Crystal Visions."
